Especially among young girls, in the modern era we live in, there is a growing desire to have full and arched eyebrows. This new fashion, which is becoming more and more widespread throughout the world, starting with Hollywood VIPs, can be achieved quite well through two surgical procedures, eyebrow lifting and hair transplantation in the eyebrow area (which we discuss in the relevant chapter). An arched eyebrow is an important feature that emphasizes and beautifies the entire harmony of the face. It is enough to remember Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, Megan Fox and even the world-famous Albanian singer Dua Lipa, who with their beauty have already become icons of world sensuality. Eyebrow lifting is a surgical procedure that consists of lifting the eyebrows by pulling the skin in the upper-lateral part of the eyebrows, thus improving the aesthetic appearance and expressiveness of the face. This procedure is performed through a small incision in the temporal area of the scalp. The skin is detached and pulled to lift the eyebrow and give a younger and wrinkle-free appearance to that area. Significantly improves the appearance of the forehead, eyebrows and area around the eyes.
What should we know about the procedure?
- Before the procedure, pre-operative tests are performed (blood count and blood group, coagulation tests, biochemical, viral, pregnancy and urine tests, visit with the cardiologist and ECG, visit with the anesthetist, etc.).
- Starmed applies totally intravenous general anesthesia, which keeps blood pressure low, reduces the risk of bleeding and hematomas, minimizes the risk of nausea and vomiting and, for this type of surgery, is safer and more comfortable for the patient, as well as allowing the surgeon to work in optimal conditions.
- The average duration is 1.5 – 2 hours.
- One night’s hospital stay in the clinic.
- Mild – moderate pain and usually tolerable.
- Hematomas and edema on the forehead that gradually disappear within 10 – 14 days.
- Small scars on the scalp, which are invisible because they are hidden by the hair.
Post-operative advice:
- Use of oral antibiotics, usually up to 5 days after surgery.
- Wound dressings every 3 – 4 days, until the medical bandages are removed (2 – 3 weeks).
- Sleep with your head slightly elevated.
- Use of cold compresses to relieve pain and swelling.
- Avoid excessive strain and movement in the first few weeks after surgery.
- Avoid direct exposure to the sun.
- Avoid dyeing your hair for a period of 6 weeks.
- Removal of stitches varies from 10 to 20 days, depending on the area.
- Check-ups with Starmed staff according to our clinical protocols.
