Hyperhidrosis is the medical term for excessive sweating. It refers to any abnormal sweating, for example when it is not hot. Botox injections are a new treatment for hyperhidrosis and the principle of action is to block the nerves responsible for excessive sweating.

Goal: reduce excessive sweating in the armpit area or hands.

Type of Botox: Dysport.

Duration of the procedure: 5 – 10 minutes.

Anesthesia: no (the needle is very small and non-traumatic).

Pain: no (light and tolerable pricks).

Effect: begins after 2 – 5 days.

Duration of the result: 4 – 5 months depending on individual characteristics.

Areas treated: axillary, palmar.

Effectiveness: sweating is reduced by 50 – 70%.

Tips after the procedure:

Do not use anti-sweat products.
Do not shower for up to 12 hours after the procedure.
