Lip reshaping
Lip reshaping is an aesthetic procedure that consists of injecting a filler called hyaluronic acid, which is produced by our own body. It is found in the gums, skin, connective tissue, hair follicles, eyes, etc. Therefore, there is no risk of allergies and cross-reactions. The filling effect of hyaluronic acid is temporary since our body breaks it down through hyaluronidase enzymes. From the moment of the procedure and for approximately the following 48 hours, the lips begin to gradually swell. This is a physiological process and results from the acid’s tendency to absorb water from the surrounding tissues. After 48 – 72 hours, the swelling goes away and the lips return to the state acquired immediately after the procedure. In addition, during this process, following the injections in a delicate and vascularized area such as the lip, it is possible that in rare cases small hematomas may form, which disappear after a few days.
